So down sides:
1) not for purists.
2) price.
3) takedown
Upsides:
1) 10 rounds of fun.
2) integrated optics rail.
3) adjustable length of pull.
4) customizable.
5) even with the price it's still the least expensive non restricted semi auto in 7.62x39.
6) if you bought an optics rail ($100), mag adapter ($150), an sks ($225), an adjustable stock (factory LOP is short)($150), muzzle break ($75), threaded barrel and front sight removal. ..... Then your own work to put it together probably 3-8 hours depending on skill/tools..... = $600.00 + your time. At gunsmith rates it becomes a pricey venture.
A Robinson Arms 7.62x39 setup is north of $2500 new and north of $2000 used.
I agree that the chassis could have been thought out better as far as takedown and mag release. BUT for what it is for $850.00 what compares for price and is as rugged and reliable as an sks? Mini 30 = no ten round magazines. VZ/cz you need an adapter and they are way more expensive than they were 2 years ago.
