Any methods for removing old Loc-Tite from threads?

Like the title says...

I've got some nuts & bolts which still have loc-tite residue on them... can I drop them in Kerosene to dissolve it?

Any other ideas that work?

The bolts can be cleaned on a soft wire wheel at 1750 RPM quite easily. Run a tap through the nuts using a cordless drill.

If you're truly concerned there are solvents specifically made for removing locktite such as "supersolvent".

If not, use a threader.

You can also use a small propane torch to burn the low temp glue off. Make sure you don't go too long or change color (while heating) of the screws.....that would be a bad thing.

Thanks... Ill try the "supersolvent" first, then wirebrush
(some screws are small so heat might get them hot fast)

WD-40 will cut Loc-tite. Let it soak of 24 hours and see what happens.
