Any new Semi-Auto .308 products in the works?

The OIC really obliterated this family of rifles, what little we have left to us are extremely expensive.

While there has been a recent handful of new 223 additions (Spec180, Lynx180, Jard 180, NDS, Sterling 180) I haven't heard anything about new semi-auto 308 products.

Is there any news of a new semi-auto .308 platform coming to our market or is this class of firearm dead in the water aside from the current $4,000+ offerings we have today?

Browning is making a BAR rifle that is shorter and takes detachable magazines compared to their other magazine design. I believe the model is called the BAR DBM which will come in a wood and synthetic version. Very ###y looking rifles.

As someone who has never considered a Browning rifle this is a step in the right directly, still a little too traditional for what I am looking for though.

I really like the classic FAL/battle rifle look, along the lines of the Famae 542. I would have grabbed one of these if they were readily available and didn't require a non-refundable deposit for the 2022 order.

Is there anything else comparable on the international market along the lines of the SG-542 that could be brought here as a NR?

And here I am, having never owned a semi-auto .308 trying to find one to complement my bolt actions.

That's why I bought a Mossberg Patrol .308, so ammo and mags from my Stag10 and M14 can still roam the earth. Are 20 mags enough for a bolt gun?

I did the same thing on a smaller scale with my MVP Predator. Have you had any feeding issues with your Patrol? I've heard the .308 MVP's have had some magazine compatibility issues.

Interesting! Didn't know they shared mags. Do they take the AIA mags too?

No issues with Norinco M14, P-Mags, ASC Pistol. Even with blanks.
I have an .223 MVP Patrol as well. I had to use valve lapping compound to smooth the bolt action. Considering what the bore looks like it shoots well.
