Any Non-Restricted Black Rifles in .45 ACP?

Alright boys and girls i'm in need of some assistance.

Let me start off by saying that this is pretty much my first venture into the black rifle forum so please be gentle :)

Living in the boonies, i've never been exposed to black rifles before. Nor handguns really for that matter. The vast majority of us around here only use long rifles and the majority of those pople are what would be known as "fudds". Most only use there rifles once a year for when moose season is on, then the rifles go back in the cabinets to wait for next season. I'm not one of those individuals. I use my rifles any chance i can get and regularly go to the sandpit on my days off to shoot. The closest range around here is about an hour and a half drive away so the sandpit is a much better choice.

Anyway, my question to you folks is are there any non-restricted black rifles out there chambered in 45 acp? Or am i whistling dixie? Any knowledge or advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You could get an HK USC rebarreled to non-restricted. Other then that I think Marstar is supposed to get some bolt action .45acp's sometime soon.
 
The only .45 ACP black rifles I know of that are in Canada right now are the H&K USC and the .45 Beretta CX4 Storm. They are restricted in their normal form, but should be able to be re-barreled to a non restricted length.

There's also talk of dealers trying to get the Thureon Carbine brought in. I mention this because there was talk of the manufacturer planning a version in .45.
 
I've seen a youtube video of the Thureon Carbine and it looks awesome. The price tag makes it even more desirable. What kind of price tag would i be looking at with the Beretta and the H&K? And also how much does re-barreling cost? Anyone done this before?

$1000 for the Beretta, at least $2000 for the HK, if you can find either (although there is an HK in the EE right now for $1900) and rebarreling is around $400. I hear Barry at Bits & Pieces does good work.
 
Ellwood Epps doesn't have any .45 CX4's in stock, but they have a lot of .40 and 9mm- and for $1550, you can walk away with a non-res CX4.

Hi Point is releasing a .45 carbine later this year according to their website. No idea on barrel length though.

Only problem with the Hi-Point is that apparently the barrel is integral to the receiver, so it can't be removed for a re-barreling if it's too short.

As for .45 CX4's, P&D have them listed for $1100 on their site.

I just like the idea of throwing a big chunk of lead out there. :D It'd pretty much only be for bringing out to the pit so a 223 is a little more "long range" than i'd want. Who knows, maybe just a cheap old SKS would be a better option...:confused:
 
get a non restricted CZ858 - can be dressed up to look pretty cool and its cheap to shoot and accurate. Alternative would be to get an SKS in a Tapco or similar stock.

If your looking for a cheap "banger" for the pit. And you wanna huck some bigger lead. CZ858 is a fun rifle.
 
you ppl are all wrong. 45ACP thrown from a long pipe is soo fun. Internal ballistics of 45ACP are unmatched by anything, it amazes me how much can be achieved with only 5 grain of powder. 300 grain cast bullets are possible if approached carefully. Although in blowback guns it is a bit tricky . I remember something about 1600fps with 250 grainers - this is bear-taking punch. Reloading 45
ACP is a slice, lotsa components and brass lasts forever.
