How come that the Taurus line is not represented in Canada?
The few that I have seen here in BC are extremely well made.

Some state that the Taurus Customer service is lousy or non-existant,
but my friends in the States are very happy with their Customer Service.
I would never rely on "Dealer Services" only.
And.... who, besides Taurus gives life-time warranty and free repair for
the life of the gun, as long as it is not willfully damaged.???

Your knowledge and experience please !

I did some research into Taurus's 24/7 and S&W M&P's for my wife as a valintine gift this year. Both have lifetime warrenties. I looked at fourms for both. I read a ton more complaints about taurus's repair than S&W. Both guns were within a reasonably cost to each other, and I had no brand preferance. In the end, after looking for a service dealers in canada I was dissapointed with all I heard etc with taurus and went to S&W MP9. I have dealt with S&W since purchasing the gun (missing little screw in rear sight) and they had one to me in 3 days!!

I believe R. Nichols / FN Sports is the Taurus distriburor. They seem to have no interest in serving the general public, just LEO's.

well, that is exactly the difference.

In my opinion Taurus is one of the best gun manufacturers there is. A lot of people like to bash them, but they are also the fastest growing manufacturer in the US.

People whine and complain about their service, but they seem to forget that this is Canada. In the US their service is top-notch. Why would they care about Canada? It's that simple, we are maybe .5 of a percent of their international business.

I've got the 24/7 and as I've said before... I would not trade this gun for ANYTHING. It is a 10/10 in every aspect. Built SO well, not a flaw, shot in excess of 5,000 rounds through it already with not ONE hitch, grip is amazing, accurate, looks great... I love it lol :D

TSE in Calgary gets them in from time to time, and Wholesale Sports here in town will be carrying them in March and they have the ability to get any model in.

I've just ordered their new 1911B - and I can't wait to see it.

I'd love a field report on the PT1911. I'm planning on making that my first handgun purchase.
If you don't mind me asking, what price range are the blued and SS ones going for in Canada. I've heard the SS will be around $750, but I haven't been able to verify pricing.

That's about the only Taurus I'd consider... the new Taurus 1911... expecially the highly polished blued one. A pic of one was posted in the Shot Show thread awhile back gave me that same tingly feeling I get when I see a nice Colt 1911... well, not quite but you get the idea... :p

That’s good news I was kinda bummed when SIR stopped carrying them… :) where did you order the PT1911 from? can I ask how much?

Abrasive if you call around and ask most gun stores will give you a quote even though the guns are not even in Canada yet. I talked to FN sports about PT1911 they said they should have them in about a month or so…

I bet this gun will be a Huge here maybe even bigger hit than in US. Where else can you get a loaded 1911 in the $700 range? I for one wouldn’t pay the same money for a bare bone SA GI...

yes FN sports is the distributor… I called them a bunch of times and everyone always took time to talk to me even though I’m not a dealer...

Last weekend I got to fondle a 24/7 and I liked it very much.

I also got to shoot a Taurus Millenium 9mm (prohib here) and found it to be a solid little pistol.

IIRC in Canada 24/7 can be had for $600, $650 for one w/ stainless slide...

I think PT1911 was supposed to offered in .45, .38super 9mm and .40, but it might be .45 and .38 for now :(

anybody know where to buy taurus mags? I'm looking for some for my 24/7 in .45. i called p&d and the lady told me they have a hard enough time just getting taurus guns, let alone mags.

just purchased a 24/7pro in vancouver at italian sporting goods
I was going to add that as my 2 cents... I've seen a few Taurus at Italian. If you are in B.C., this is probably your contact for Taurus stuff.
