Slamming the butt down without firing is not the only test to perform when doing a trigger job - best left up to someone who knows their stuff.

However you can do this simple...

TEST:

1. Make sure to unload rifle.
2. Pull the trigger group out.
3. Lock closed the triger guard just like it would be on the rifle.
4. Pull hammer back and ####.
5. Take safety off.
6. Squeeze trigger - let hammer fall - do not release pressure from trigger.
7. With pressure still on trigger, #### hammer back until it engages with secondary sear.
8. Release trigger.

What happened?

If the hammer fell all the way down without catching on the trigger sear you have removed to much material from either your hammer hooks, secondary sear or trigger sear. If so take to someone who knows two stage triggers and have them determine what parts need to be replaced of the above three parts.

it catches and holds it every time even when i slam it with the trigger pulled so is thats not the problem......
it could have been a freek tipe thing...
oh i didnt do it i had a mecheanist buddy of mine do it.....he has done it many times befor.....

You've probably just "bump fired" it. Whhen the rifle fired as you were squeezing the trigger, the recoil pushes the rifle back, them it bounces off your shoulder and pushes against your trigger finger again.
Caused by not enough 'follow through' on the trigger, perhaps exacerbated by a worn trigger group.

Sorry I don't understand what you have just stated.

When following the above steps correctly and when the hammer is cocked and locked on the "secondary sear" and when you release the trigger pressure: does the hammer fall or does it catch on the "trigger sear" and hold in the cocked position? If it falls all the way forward you have a problem.

the trigger dose everything that it sapose to it catches on both as it is sapose to....
i think it is what splatter sayed i released the trigger just enuff on the re-coil and when i moved forward it pulled again....
