Any one know where to find a zastava m85?

The CZ is worth 1000 dollars for sure, look at what else that gets you these days

The m85 was good in the CanAm days, the tiny little bolt handle always bugged me though. Wish I could get a cz with the Zastava bottom metal

The M85's were okay for $400 when canam has them, still pretty rough and ####ty action, but for $400 they were ok.
CZ is a $1000 piece, for what it is and how well they are made it's not a deal for sure, but it's worth it.
At least the mags sit in solid, no accidentally dropping them, the 3 rounders are not flush but don't stick out much. Very nice little actions.

Yes, back when they were cheap, if you knew how to do a bit of tinkering and modifying you could have a pretty decent shooter for very little money. My son's is a bit rough and finished a bit crudely in some areas but has smoothed out with use. After relieving the wood around the ejector box so it would eject and bedding it to fix the horrible inletting it's an honest 1.5 moa gun with handloads. For what I paid, I can't complain and he has gotten 5 years of use out of it and taken several deer and black bear with it.

The CZ could be rigged with a hinged floor plate if you had some time and money, but it would be single stack and hold 2 or 3 rounds max.
The action/stock is too narrow for a double stack.

Something like what I did to my Howa mini could be done to the CZ if you could find or modify bottom metal to have the right screw spacing and such. I have thought of doing this many times but never progressed with it beyond thinking about it.

The CZ 557 has a hinged floorplate, and the SA models have a detachable mag. Lots of value.
You can find them still at some retailers.
