I ended up getting a 10/22 Compact on sale for 279$ not realizing it was not the standard 18" because it did not show it in store. Any major difference between the standard and the compact? Will I be able to fit aftermarket stocks on it? most of them say there for the 18". Any will my accuracy be effected by quite abit?

They are no different than the 18" variants, just shorter. 16" is the ideal length for .22lr as far as ballistics are concerned.

Not much difference but i do have an older un modified carbine stock and the barrel seems a little tighter in the channel than my 18" but i also have a tapco and the fit is the same. IMO its a little louder.

My 10/22 started as a compact, I changed the barrel, sights, stock, internals, ect.
It's a normal 10/22 with a shorter stock and barrel.

The wholesale purple compact is a bit of an odd duck from what I can surmise. It has the compact stock with the straight butt and no barrel band, but it has the longer variant sights. That said I picked one up too as you just can't beat the price. The purple and dark grey laminate stock is quite striking as well.

I noted it was shorter, but it balances reasonably well for me and is a handy size to throw in the truck. I'm also 6'1" or so and not exactly a lightweight and it shoulders more like my AR than anything else I have kicking around. For anyone curious it's a model 1211.
