Any reason to not like a Browning X-Bolt?

Hey guys, I just took an X-Bolt on a trade and have to say I kinda like it, crisp trigger, light with good ergonomics and the bolt lift seems nice and short making for fast reloads. I listed it in the EE just because I have no interest in a 308, but if it had been in something 6.5 I think she would have to stay in the cabinet.

What do you guys think of this rifle?

Im a fan,

It feels like a well built rifle that proved to be comfortable, reliable and accurate for me.

I too sold my 308 in favour of the Ruger Scout, I didn't see the need for both.

My brother was always a browning guy , and I had a tough time out shooting any of his Brownings and they feel as good as my sako,s . I think aftermarket accessories availability is tough or they would be more popular

I've never shot a short action xbolt but I did have one in 280 that I sold because the bolt would bind/stop just as a shell ejected. At this position it wasn't at the bolt stop, or far enough back to pick up another round causing you to close on an empty chamber. I went back into the store and tried a few other long actions that did the same thing. Not sure if it would smooth out over time or what. And the front base holes are extremely shallow, watch the torque on those. Other than those two issues I really like the 60' bolt, 4 base screws front and back, and the mag system functions really well. Oh and not a fan of tupperware plastic stocks...the white golds look amazing.

Love my xbolt ss carbon fiber fluted. Trigger was light n crisp right out of the box. Very accurate and reliable. The angle of the stock and inflex pad makes the recoil of my 30-06 feel like a 243.

Is the carbon model stock just a carbon look decal on tupperware?

I got a .243 x bolt. Wood quality is great, nice grip and fairly balanced rifle. Never had an issue with feeding or ejecting the short action.

I have to say that I am a LATE LIFE Browning convert. I now have 5 Brownings. I think that as far as factory offerings, they are among the best. Fit/finish is always first rate. The X-Bolt seems as well built as any of their offerings. I have a .308win in mind next in an X-bolt. Wood stocks look great on all the Brownings I have seen, and that's what I'm going for next. White Gold Medallion.........They all feel and look so good in my hands.
