By component I mean items for reloading for exemple a thumbler or a giraud or henderson trimmer or stuff directly from Dillon..

I checked on the Gov of Canada website in the list of items on which the 25% tarrif shoudl apply and was not sure I found anything related to those machine.

Thanks
Tj

Was ready earlier today in another forum. Guy paid extra $175 for the $475 reamers he ordered out of the US. Or close to those as I don't fully remember now the specifics, but it was a lot!

Here is his quote: Thanks Carnie keep up the clown show. Just received two reamers , cost me 580 cdn had to pay an addition $175 fees at the post office . Now my reamers cost me $775 !

Paid it on a mold, then the taxes on the combined amount...Including the shipping because the shop added the shipping to the mold cost for the assessed value. But looks like I can apply to get about $18 back

I found a website https://www.tariffinder.ca/en/getStarted to check items, I have bought up bullets, brass, gun powder and reloading equipment without tariffs, it give you the HS numbers to show customs. I have brought in at least 4000.00 worth of components without tariffs, just the usual PST and GST

Well, here's another tale of Canadian woe !!
I ordered some P & W reloader parts for a bud of mine. from the good ol US of A !
I've ordered stuff before from them over the past 10-12 yrs..maybe more. Always a bit of duty on the CDN side, never anything extravagant, ....BUTTT... I never imagined that I'd be paying 136.86 EXTRA dollars once it landed here !!!!! Hollee mother of gawwwwd man !
These are the figures on the CBSA Postal Import form...thanks to the good ol Canada BSA for lookin after us !

Purchase price is 276.12 USD. Exchange rate of 1.360900. Value for duty CDN...298.04 Steel surtax applied as well @ 25%..74.52 plus the HST 52.18 !!!!...Oh yea, add another 10 bucks for CBSA to put a GD sticker on it !!!

It's real enuff folks, and not just on consumables for reloading...it's on everything !

Yup. Ordered a Kiridachi from a company I follow on social media from Montana. $117 USD shipped (approx. $156 CDN)
Turns out they shipped it UPS 🤦‍♂️ who want an additional $109.53 upon signature and receipt.
It is going back to the manufacturer and I’ll eat the $18 USD shipping charge. It’s literally a 4 x 1 inch. piece of steel.
Nope.

Shipping UPS or any courier from the USA is going to end badly. If I can't get a seller to ship USPS, I don't buy, period. Not worth the hassle.

Same, but there was no list of options, just “International Shipping” so I crossed my fingers. Once I got a confirmation email from UPS I was like “Hell no!” before it even hit the border. Then I got the price of brokerage, duty & tax and said “Hell no! x 2”. Never had a positive experience with UPS, ever.

Just picked up my Giraud trimmer last week, had it shipped to my US mailing address, used the HS number from the website I mentioned before and paid no tariffs on it. If you contact Dillon directly like I did, they also have HS number that will show that they are tariff free as well, that is how I found out about the website was from dillons international shipping specialist

No diff now Jet. Mine WAS shipped USPS, and delivered by CP !!!!
Yeah that's how it normally works. There are also options with some retailers in the USA for a courier to take it to the border and deliver it to Canada Post there. Buffalo Arms did that for a while when they were having problems with USPS.

Carney didn't start the tarrif war the "boy King" in south did.
So bending on one knee for the "BK" is not going to happen in Canada!
So look forward to a fair negotaited settlement.
It's still in the works.
