NS runs an active Service Rifle program, see

In NB, in some years we'll run a match at CFB Gagetown, and in some years we won't - it all depends on whether we get someone to do it. If you are interested in shooting some Service Rifle in NB, contact me and I can put you in touch with the guys most likely to run an event, maybe you can persuade them to do it this year or you could volunteer to help them run it.

If you build it they will come.

We have the range to 300 meters and the figure 11 targets. Could do everything but snaps as we have no butts here. There are a few folks that would participate, but no one is putting on a Service match.

I would shoot the match, but I can not organize it.

Trevorf has an interest in shooting service conditions and just about everything else gun related he organized two shoots last year. The steve lee charity shoot and the 3 gun match, which was one of the best shoots I had participated in last season.

Hey, if you get something going get in touch with us at Canadian Service Conditions Radio. We'd love to hear about it, talk about it and help promote it if we can.

The more places that offer Service Conditions the better IMO.

As far as Trevorf goes, yeah we should get him to an event too......plus old warning shot....if we can get enough donatated parts together to build him an AR. :)

im in same area as jbd i think a local / small event would be a start............i have the fig, targets as well. lets chat further im sure we could cobble up some event idea mabye a 1 day shoot with the stages thar could be done with out butts or somethings .......................the ontario guys have a vintage rifle match i think stealing there good idea mite be a start.

I think a variation of service conditions would be easy to accomplish here. Set up 3 targets at the 300 hundred berm. Relay move back 100 yards shoot standing. Move to 200 hundred sitting or kneeling, then back to 300 Meters for prone. Then do a run down from 300 Meters. Then Score. Setup would be minimal ,no butts about it.

We may be expanding our rifle range to 600 yards this summer for the IPSC Nationals.

HEY JBD MESSAGE ME either thru cgn or face-crook.................if your club oks the idea im willing to work with you to set up a test ?? service kind of match...........i dont need xtra work but hey ............i agree if we do it they-- will-- come.

If you are going to include CQB in this I mite know some people in the NB area that would be interested.

Ok I've just been asked by the another person about CQB for the NB Fredericton Area in the last three weeks. It's time that we find a schedule or get the range staff together in he area to work out a competition schedule for the year. I think the staff at the CFB Gagetown Shooting Association would be the best place to start, I'll be asking on Monday to find out what I can.

Anyone out there that can offer assistance or direction would be great, if I need to start something myself.

Hey Carnage - There might be something in this episode that will help you out.

This week we discuss the color names chosen by a certain high end rifle manufacturer, Bryan gets an M&P9 and we talk Service Conditions with Steve Stewart of the Royal New Brunswick Rifle Association.

Hope you enjoy, and remember, feedback is always appreciated. Send emails to cscr@canadianreloadradio.ca. Also, check out and like our Facebook page!
