Any Silverdale Members reload 45-70?

Do any members of Silverdale range near Smithville re-load the 45-70? I met a fellow named Sandy there who had a Guide Gun. Well, I should get my Guide Gun the middle of next week (my cheque to Wholesale in Calgary takes about ten days from Ontario!) and am eager to try some handloads. Trouble is I do not re-load myself.

I could get the equipment but I may be offered a contract for the infantry any time and would then only have two or three weeks before I must go to the training depot.

What I would like to do is try some different 45-70 loads from someone to determine what my rifle shoots best and then copy the "recipe" for future reference so to speak.
If anyone out there can help me out I should really appreciate it. You can PM me.

I know many reloaders will not do this as it is a safety concern. If it turns out no one is willing to "lend" ( no buying or selling in this section, right so I must say lend?) me their re-loads then I'll just stick to the wimp loads until I get the time to learn myself.

Anyone in the Hamilton area reload for the 45-70? Oh a brick wall. Do any of the manufacturers make ammuinition for modern 45-70's at all or do they cater strictly to old weak rifles? Seems strange that they don't know about modern rifles. As if someone would be so stupid as to put a strong round in an antique. Why not just put proper labeling on the bloody box stating this cartridge for old weak rifles and this box for modern strong rifles much as they do with pictures of game animals.

Modern 45-70

Hey Teapot, one serious loaded ammo is Garrett Cartridges 540gr Hammerhead. Not sure anyone in Canada handles Garretts. That is pretty close bullet design to the mold I got from Ballisti-cast. Mine weigh about 560gr lubed and gaschecked. Just try typing "modern 45-70" into google search, there's Grizzly and Conley as well as Garrett, again in Canada??? Who knows??
If you can't find I have some web addresses on my favorites. PM me re: Handloads even have some plinking loads, kick like a rimfire:dancingbanana:

reloads

Have you considered the classic lee loader. This sells for about $25 and comes with all that is needed to reload. Open it up and look at the load instructions and use the powder that is listed with the dipper and buy the components and start reloading. usually takes a little longer with this but the size and price is right. I do use this sometimes when I' am in a bind.
