I was just curious if anyone knew of any stores in Canada which would have the Norinco SKS with detachable AK mag(s) from factory - NOT THE DUCKBILL CRAP.

Please post info if you have any :)

Just for the record, that "duckbill crap" works about 10 times better than any detachable mag SKS I've ever heard of. Otherwise the NVA and Chinese troops would've been using SKS D's.

I have one for sale right now in the Equipent Exchagne and have had ZERO issues with them feeding from 30/5 AK mags.

Even the 5 rounder feeds properly, but it's a pain in the ass to use as it's so short! :D

That being said they are hard to find new.

I haven't had a laugh this good in a long, long time... :D Sigh... :D An SKS-D works just as well as an AK in mag feeding and changes in my experience. No difference, and the only shortcoming is a standard one, that there's no bolt hold open. Given our mag cap laws, a fellow can reload a normal SKS faster by strippers, but the 'D' remains an interesting specimen for it's own reasons.

Thats a little silly since they were made in the 70s and 80s IIRC. They are great the only problem I've had is feeding from a Chinese mag. I have no probs with higher quality mags.

D's were used by chinese paratroopers and such when there weren't enough AKs to go around from what I've read.

I paid $600 for mine but it came with a scope, fiberforce stock, case, extra mags, culminator (sp?) and finally a crate of ammo.

I think you are confusing duckbill mags ( aftermarket detachable mags for standard SKS) and the standard 10 round fixed mag on your standard SKS model. Duckbill mags are ####, standard fixed mag works just fine.

Just the same old UN BS, they are tightening the screws on the exporting of ammo from Europe etc. Not sure how this effects countries that are telling the UN to go jump in the lake, and I'm not sure if it is simply a matter of the ammo suppliers in Canada not finding other sources.

I really haven't had time to look into it, but I know several that have been waiting over a year to get stuff in.

I know the current location of numerous SKS D's. They were brought into the area by the crate load and most every local here has one. None of them know what they are and most refer to them as "That damned Chinese rifle that won't hit anything". Nor do they know how to get ammo.

I intend to buy every one I can for dirt cheap and then selling them at a considerable mark up. Take that, suckers!
