either way I would think it worthwhile to apply heat to the knob while twisting the stub counter clockwise with good (Klein) needle nose pliers. Thanks for the reply.
I hope it's that simple, I was more so hoping to have someone chime in as to whether or not there are any special considerations when doing such a procedure. The base has a threaded hole through to the other side, but I'm not sure if the screw is a press fit into the knob or if it's also threaded into the knob. Hate to try drilling it out when it could just be tapped out, but I hate to start hammering on it if it's threaded.
Would there be room to cut a slot for a flat blade screwdriver? Dremell tool with a cutting disk ? It could also be removed mounted on a Lathe and drilled out . Could also screw on a nut and weld/ braze it ( thats how I remove brocken truck wheel studs) the heat helps if its jamed in there .
