Hi, I was wondering if anybody here has an UZI. If you do, what steps and procedures did you have to go through, in order to obtain it. Also, where do you shoot it?

Thanks,

Al

you can't get one- they're all prohibs and those that got em are grandfathered 12(3) - they're specifically named and right now they're all safe queens no range time

I own a Converted-Auto open-bolt FN Herstal Uzi. It is an OIC 12(3) Prohibited firearm, and as such cannot be owned by anyone who did not possess one or more converted-automatic firearms as of the OIC's date of coming into force. That occurred many years ago, and was a "fixed date" with no latecomers.

Those who own the factory semi-auto-only closed-bolt civilian Uzis fall under a different OIC. But it doesn't much matter. If you don't already own a firearm within that particular prohibited category, then you never (legally) will.

Sorry Al - if you are trying to find out how to legally acquire an Uzi? The answer is that you can't. Your government does not trust you to own certain military-style firearms - all identified and vilified based solely upon their "aggressive" appearance.

And that is but one reason why C-68 and its associated OICs need to be rescinded and replaced by a "practical firearms control system" for the law-abiding. As it currently stands, I am sick and frigging tired of being painted as the "bad man" simply because I enjoy the lawful use of my military firearms collection. Gee Whiz - it kind of goes with the territory given my current occupation as an infantry guy. But whatever. I (and you) apparently cannot be trusted by the Lieberal nanny-state to use our personal property in a socially responsible manner. Hence their determination to confiscate (without any compensation for the loss of investment created by their laws) all of the "evil guns".

Can someone show me an "evil" gun? Really, I am waiting. Can someone show me an "evil" car? Let's compile the accident stats and figure out which make/model was involved in the most impaired-driving accidents last year. Clearly, that particular make and model of automobile ought to be banned outright. It is clearly a KILLER!!!!!

I'm sure you get my drift.

BUMMER!!!!!

That is really disappointing. I really hope they change the laws one days. I keep watching all these videos of people in Nevada blasting away with their Uzi's, MP5's, etc, and it just makes me so friggin' jealous! I mean not only do I feel that these laws are depriving us of our freedom, but some (or most) of these gun laws are just plain DUMB!

Well, thanks for clearing it up anyway...

Regards,
Al

Ditto ;) Hopefully with the liberals losing the election, and hopefully with the conservatives winning, some of those stupid laws will be lifted (cmon AKs!)

Cheers,
Alex

I have a Uzi in 45 ACP, with the 9mm conversion kit, and a Mini-Uzi in 9mm with both short and long barrels, these are semi auto, which is classified in a 12(4). but no longer allowed to shoot them, Thanks to the Lieberals.

Why are you not allowed to shoot them? Get an SAP to bring them to Wild West or Phoenix ranges for appraisal, or consignment. As long as you are there test fire them to show the staff that they are complete and functional. Repeat as required.
The SAP controls the movement of the gun. Do what you said you were going to do, but shoot as well. All legal.

I was under the impression that they are longer issuing SAP, under the April 10th letter I received from the CFC, but I was off this board for a few months.

They are no longer issuing SAPs for target practice. Ask for one for something else. Do what you asked to do, then shoot.

You can also get an SAP to gunshows at a range, or to have your gunsmith test fire the gun at your local range

NO NO NO...

You get an ATT to do that stuff.

You are bending the rules if you get an ATT and then fire them anyway

Not that I would mind...:)

Im still ALL FOR A 'COME AND ARREST ME' shoot....whos in?

Would you support that idea to TSE? If so, see ya soon.

Dewat or airsoft are your only options left. May be these will be banned too if Liberals are re elected & have their way.
