Hey guy's, I haven't spent alot of time in the rimfire forum, but I guess now is as good as any time to start.
As luck would have it, a machinist was moving his equipment into the building nextdoor and he needed to borrow our forklift.
As per usual, I mentioned wanting to learn to do some gunsmithing on a milling machine some day....long story short he said he had an old pump action .22 he would GIVE ME
.
Turns out it was his father's gun and he said it has never been fired so long as he has been alive which I would guess to be 40 some years.
Went over and picked it up this afternoon.
His brother was going to refinish it and lost the butt stock/plate and screw.
Other than that, it is a fully functional model 1890 Winchester, full round barrel. Oops, it is missing the rear sight too. She is in rough shape but what do you expect for a work horse gun that was built in 1913!
I may have to get this one running again, a true classic for the gopher patch.
It will be a good match for the full octogon Remmy pump I have at home.
Let the good times roll.
Anyone else out there running the old rigs?
