Anybody ever load shot into pistol calibers?

"...Sometimes called Snake or Bird shot rounds..." Snakes and rats, not birds. You can or could at one time get the CCI plastic capsules. Then you load for the weight with whatever shot size you use. Mind you, shot, out of a rifled barrel, flies in a spiral, sending the shot who knows where. There are usually huge holes in the pattern. Not exactly disasterous, but not really useful either. Except at very close range.

I loaded and shot some of the Speer capsules out of a .357max/20 ga O/U Savage that I had once. Terrible patterns, but I did kill a couple of sitting grouse at about 20 feet. Pretty useless IMO.
Speer capsules
Where did you find Speer capsules? Figure a guy could reload his own somehow?
I know it would be a useless round, but it's just all for fun. I'm not into snake or rat shooting. I've seen the rounds at gun shows, would think there would be an easy cheaper way to load them.

Work well with long barrel 7.5" but not 4". Also you need to follow directions and not load too "hot" relatively speaking: 7g Unique in 44mag is just about right to get decent pattern at 10-15 yards ( limit of useful range).
So did you use a paper wad between the powder and the shot? What did you use to cap the round? I've heard that you can drip wax onto a wad over the shot to help seal it into the case and that also helps give enough resistance for the powder to burn compleatly.
