Anybody ever try a Russian PU scope on their M 14?

russian optics on M305

I mounted a russian optic system on my '14. It sat on the rails OK, but was a little high for my regular cheek weld that did not enhance my performance. The clunky mounting allowed the brass to hang when ejecting and that again did not enhance my performance. So , I switched to a arms 18 mount, low rings and leupold glass. Better sight picture, flawless mechanical action, the only loose nut is behind the trigger.

I have a PSOP 8x42, very happy with it, Once I learned how to use it lol

Mine has a weaver screw on mount, The range finder is very handy as its calibrated for a 5'6"ish man which just happens to be the average height of a buck from hoofs to rack. only complaint is mine did not come with the winter battery pack.

Make sure you get one that takes the COMMON watch batteries, cr2032.. they sell russian versions with the russian batteries *BAD* you will never find them.... or pay $$ to get em... if urs is illuminated make sure its a common.

Good luck finding a replacement when you cant buy any more online. Just a thought.

A CR2032 battery is a standard lithium battery rated at 3.0 volts, commonly used in computers as a CMOS battery, some scientific and graphing calculators, scientific instruments, watches, clocks, toys, laser pointers and small LED flashlights.

This means I can loot my batteries from just about any house, or modern building for that matter.

Not to mention a 3 pack only goes for $5 at my local dollar store.

Why? There are a lot of good optics choices out there, so why pick up one of these?

I assume you are putting the rifle (or it already is in) a Sage EBR chassis? If this is the case, why would you spend $1000+ on a chassis and then put a cheap scope on it? If I were you, I would put something like this on it.
