Anybody have a spare $127K?

Nice gun. The price isn't crazy for a modern H&H(now owned by Beretta) in its like new condition. Nonetheless a tough sell. The moment you start using it as an actual firearm you can lop off another 30K+ off its value. I am going to guess the current owner bought it new for roughly for what he/or estate is currently asking approximately a decade + ago and kept it as a safe queen.

Sadly the thought of 130K for a safe queen does not bode well for me. If I was in the market for an used H&H I would be definitely be cross shopping the American market and be on the lookout for something a little more special than the relatively not uncommon standard Royal version, perhaps something with a little more artwork or providence. I suppose if I was looking at a new H&H it would probably be a more modern Noble over under with the appropriate bespoke measurements/fitment. In this price category I would not be worried about shipping/insurance costs as I would be taking delivery in person. The thought of one of these fine guns being handled by Canadapost or UPS makes me cringe. :)

Estate sale. Took delvery in 2022 (of course, oredered years before)
Poor guy received it but was not able to hunt by that time and passed a short time later. :(

How silly.

I get it, nice wood, fancy engraving, brand clout...

But $130k? How can that price possibly be justified?

Had the rifle version of the Royal, which you guys helped facilitate part of the deal. They’re functional art, few things made that way anymore. It’s a testament to hand crafting that mine from 1913 was the exact same pattern as this, some of the good things aren’t yet lost.

Now, is it necessary or does it improve your hunting? Of course not. It is however satisfying, in a way only something a master with an eye to the smallest details can make.

The same way people justify a $130,000+ truck/car/camper etc for it to be worth $75,000 in a year and $60k in 2 years. Different strokes for different folks. There's someone out there who is going to see it and scoop it up for their collection and good for them. Someday I aspire to have that kind of disposable income.

I can't believe there are initials carved on the medallion in the rear stock, have to pass. Oh so close.

This item is the type of thing you hire Brinks to handle shipping/receiving.
