.243 winchester loads? Medium to high velocity. Iu might just buy the manual, but does it have data for the triple shock yet? I've heard guys are using data for the XLC. Thanks.
Lee second edition lists data for the 85 grain X-bullet. Barnes was putting a brochure in with their TSX stating that you could use X-bullet data, and that due to the reduced pressure from the grooves in the TSX it may be possible to add 1 or 2 grains to the max load, working up in 0.5gr increments. You may have to dump the bullets out of the box to find the brochure (its black). Lee lists loads for H414,4350,4895,380, Varget, IMR4350,4831,4895,4320. What powder are you wanting to use?
I was hoping for IMR 3031. I used to load 55 grain BT's with great accuracy. But I was also hoping for a little heavier bullet than the 85. I see they don't build it, but am curious to see how an 85 flies now. I would prefer to stay away from 4350. But I'd be open to anything that was recommended.
I'm loading TSX's over IMR 3031, but they are 250gr in 9.3mm. I don't own or load for a 243, so I can't recommend anything, just tell you what it says in the manual. For what its worth, Lee only lists one 3031 load, for 80gr jacketed. Hornady has some data, but only for lightweight varmint bullets. The Dupont website (IMR, hodgdon and Win powders) doesn't have 3031 data for anything heavier than a 75gr bullet. Maybe somebody with a Barnes manual or other sources will have some input.
My Barnes manual doesn't list any loads with 3031 for the .243 85 grain bullets, is there any other powder you could use? Some of the powders listed are RL 15 and 19, IMR 4895, 4320, 4350, and 4831, H 380, 414, 4350, and 450, Vit N160, Win 760
