Anybody hunt from a box blind?

Yes it is mine. I built it 3 summers ago on my son's farm .
There has been a few beer (cough , cough) drank in the shack ....especially when I was building it during a very warm August .
We sometimes see more than 40 deer at one time feeding in the fields .
The deer get used to the 4-wheelers driving to and from the shack . If they vacate the field they usually come back out in a few minutes . So there is no need to stay overnight , although that is an option especially during the rut when you don't want to spook Mr. Big .
 
I helped build/furnish 5 other shooting shacks in various areas around Dryden with different hunting buddies ...so I have a lot of different areas to hunt .
I have shot a lot of deer and a few moose from these shacks .

Looking west from shooting shack .The red strap is a nylon ratchet strap hung from the ceiling for a very stable but easily re-positional shooting platform .
The far edge of the field is a bit over 300yds away.
We have the distances marked on the wall .

My buddy wants me to start building another one for another property we hunt .
Just a small one , about 6 feet square sitting on a 12 foot stand .
 
I was thinking about setting up a ground blind this year.I've found a real good whitetail spot.We don't have a lot of whitey's where I live but more have been showing up every year.Tons of mulies but I haven't taken a whitetail yet.

I was thinking just weaving some branches in a circular kind of shape.This will be my first time still hunting,I'm more of a spot and stock hunter.So for you still hunters a question,will something like this work?

I'm also considering a cheap(disposable) dome tent camoed with a propane heater for when it get colder.Just planning on cutting some flaps for shooting,duct tape to hold them open or closed.Any thought or suggestions from experianced still hunters appreciated.

If you don't want to spend the $ on a blind then do the next best thing, buy a "sheet" which is made of waterproof material, cabela's sells it and so does wholesale sports, and prob most others it comes in various camo patterns, and is basically a camo sheet that you can set up using natural materials and then hide behind also has Punch outs to make it look like leaves, around 24 $ i think cabelas has it listed as "portable blind"
 
A number of years ago I made up a portable blind, which was basically a very small Tee Pee .When sitting on a small fold up chair inside the tent my head would protrude from the top, giving me an unobstructed view of the surrounding terrain . I also had to keep my head outside the Tee Pee because I had a 3 lb. coffee can charcoal stove btwn. my legs for heat .
My rifle sat outside the tent on a bi-pod ...ready to go . I could unclip the tent fasteners in front of me , grab the gun and shoot in a few seconds ...all in almost total comfort .
I could even stand up and move around without exiting the shelter if so inclined .
