I've "ramped" 9mm bolts before, but that was in the bad old days of yore...

Now that the border is a "safer place" I am hoping to find a machinist in country that has done the work previous, or a machinist that someone here could recommend:confused:

Any help guys:)

Thanx.

Hmmm!! Good question. Anything 9mm AR related in this country seems to be in short supply with no one to do the work. Why ramp the bolt? My understanding is if you use a 9mm hammer than it isn't an issue.

You could try buying one stateside, having it shipped to M60joe and then having him send it to an FFL that'll export. Not what you'r looking for I'm afraid, but it's all I can think of.

Thanks, I've had work done by M60Joe before and it was fine. I just don't want to send stuff back and forth across the line.

I actually did one myself years ago with the help of Mr. Dremel, but I am hoping to do a bit better job this time..

It isn't that big of a job and I'll get it done, just though someone on here could recommend a good machinist that may have done such work.

Give Gunplumberr a call...he has a lathe/mill sitting there idling!

When did he get that?

I'm going to be in Edmuchuk the last week in Aug, so I'll have to buy him a wheel and a pop. (He works cheap:D )

I've done one myself before, and in the US, pretty well anyone with a 9mm, gets the bolt ramp cut. It's done on the bottom to replicate the normal 16 contour.

Here's a pic, so that if anyone out there with a mill can do the work, pulleeezz let me know. It's just better done on a mill, rather than me with a cutting wheel and grinding stone:p . Although I will get it to work, may not be pretty, but it will work.

I grind and I grind and it's still too short.
