Anybody interested in these Norincos

I am cheap so I like cost effective gun. Does anybody like these Norinco as well. If there’s enough interest maybe someone will import it. It is 7.62x54R with 5 round mag. This one is called the JS series sniper rifle.

I think Canada Ammo had priced them out at 1500 bucks for a wholesale customer (plus shipping, customs fees, export permits, import permits, ect. ect). No one will pay the over 2k landed cost in Canada...

Yes, their pricing was out to lunch last time I checked. Also, a lot of the stuff you see on forums, trade shows etc, is vapourware, looking for customers.

Thanks for the respond. I figure a comparable European system would costs at least $5k and probably closer to $10k.

last time had 3 set Type 88 Sniper rifle come to Canada. Each cost about 3K dollars.

If you want cost effective, I'd just stick with a Rem 700 VSF in .308 Win.

It is a proven platform with no problems getting spare parts or accessories, and the ammo will be a lot easier to come by.

Plus, it would complement a nice Chinese M14 that the guys here are so enamoured with.

The Rem 700 is excellent but you have to admit the JS looks cool and evil. The 7.62x54R is actually pretty common too.

My point of starting this post is hoping to get a respond hence a group buy ala the Type 97. The difference in cost of bringing in just 3 rifles and 100 rifles is enormous.
