Anybody know about Rem. Model 30 ?

Does anybody know anything about a Remington Model 30, 30-06 ?
I have a chance to get one cheap. Only thing I know about it is it's from the late 1940s and it's heavy as hell.

I had one,...a 30S Express..they are Remington's first sporter bolt action. Basically an M17 Enfield. Early ones were still ####-on-closing.....mine was #### on opening, built in '33. Do a search, there should be lots of info out there....

interesting tid bit of info on the one I had....when I got it , it was stamped 25 Roberts. (not 257 Roberts)..but it was chambered in 25-06....afer checking with Remington we discovered it had left the factory as a 25 Remington, I thought so because it was a 22" tube with the front site ramp intact (factory 25 Roberts M30's were 24")....so it had been rechambered twice....and mine had a beautiful Fajen Aristocrat stock........it's high on my list of "guns I should have kept"....:confused:
 
I have one in 30.06 Rem 30s if your not interested in buying it let me know I would be interested. they bare a good gun but a little heavey
