So, long story short, I ordered a henry single shot rifle that was advertised as a Youth model, with 13" LoP. When I got the rifle it had a 14" LoP (so the full size rifle, not the youth model). I believe the description was wrong on the dealers webpage, and I have emailed them about this but have yet to hear back (I just emailed them today, so I'm not surprised). I don't really want to return the rifle, especially if they don't have a youth model to replace it with (which it doesn't look like they do by looking at their webpage). Instead, I have asked the dealer if they would be able to help me locate a second stock for the rifle.

If the dealer can't (or wont) help me find a stock, do you guys have any idea where I might be able to get one? I already contacted Grech Outdoors (the warranty center for Henry in Canada) and they were quick to respond, but said they have nothing.

I was really hoping for this rifle to be my kids' introduction to centerfire, but with a 14" LoP its not really any good for them, and I don't want to chop the only stock I have due to how it will impact resale value. SO with all this in mind, anyone know where I might be able to source a buttstock for my Henry?

I'd try contacting Henry directly, they are very helpful.

I just took a quick look and it looks like they are waiting on the new export rules to be sorted.....

They sure look like nice rifles, what caliber did you get? Straight stock or pistol grip?

ATTENTION CANADIAN CUSTOMERS:
Due to new international export regulations from the Department of Commerce we are temporarily suspending firearm parts and accessories shipments to Canada. We are taking steps to make sure that our Canadian customers' needs are met as soon as possible.

243 Win with the pistol grip. I was also looking at the 223 version, but I already reload for 243 and it was advertised as the youth model. I'm very happy with the rifle so far, fit and finish are nice, locks up tight, haven't gotten to shoot it though. Trigger/hammer are heavy, but that was expected, I'll get some springs and see what I can do with that.

If you cut it to youth stock length, the resale value would be the same as if you had received the youth model.

Sadly it's not that easy. The butt pad wouldn't be the right size anymore due to the taper of the stock, plus the sling swivel would end up awfully close to the end so I'd probably have to move it. Both of those issues will slightly lower resale value, enough so that I at least want to explore the idea of getting a second stock.

Besides, my kids are on the smaller side in general so if I can get a second stock and shorten it to like 12" that would be even better. Then I can make it fit myself as well as my kids depending on the circumstances.
