Pretty much what the title says :) I really hope i can find the smallest restricted class derringer available. Its a pistol I've wanted ever since i was a child. I still have my favorite derringer cap gun toy i've had since i was 6 years old. To be able to go target shoot with one would be nothing short of wonderful.

Or Bond Arms has the following with a 4.25" barrel.

The Bond Arms web site was not available when I posted this.

Check Questar above to import one.

That Bond Arms one is down right beautiful, so Questar it is. Thanks alot man. :) I'm surprised they aren't more popular then they are

bond arms.. apparently they are popular down in the states for fishers...
The double barrel 410 gives them insurance against rattle snakes and what not.
Up here.... Not so much b/c they are prohib. and we dont have CCW so having a tiny lil pistol stashed away in your vest pocket or boot isnt an option

I don't want it to stash in my boot or vest. It's just been a pistol i loved since i was a kid and would love to target shoot with it. Hopefully the government didn't slap them into the prohib class. they come with 4.25 " barrels and even longer. Plus they are only 2 shot, so you would think that they would technically be less of a threat then semi-auto's with 4.25" barrels. The gun laws here are a joke to say the least :(

Don't rule out American Derringer for a long barrel gun. They are a small shop. I hear they will make what you want. I would go for the classic style derringer but with a longer barrel (4.2").
The model 4 has a 4.1" barrel. Get them to make it 4.2" (106.68 mm)

Very interesting thread! I have always been interested in deringers since seeing them so much in gun mags. Please keep us informed!

So what it is like to shoot 410 shotshell or Colt .45 from such a small gun?

I have an American Derringer in 45 Colt/410.

Shooting 410's out of it isn't too bad as it only has a 2 1/2" chamber. Needless to say it doesn't pattern very well (how could it when the barrel is only 3" long and the shotshell takes up 2 1/2" of it!) but it's effective up close which is what it's designed to be used for anyway.

As for 45 Colt, you'd better hang on if you're shooting full power loads out of it! The biggest problem is that there isn't much of a grip to hang on to.

Remember these guns were designed for cartridges like 41 rimfire. I would stick to smaller rather than larger (power) cartridges. I would probably pick 38 Special.
