Anybody still using Stiller actions

I haven't seen many builds using them lately. Have I missed something or is there better action for the money?

I haven't seen anything better being built yet that would take over, function vs price.

This last spring I built a 6 Dasher on a Stiller RBLP Drop port Diamondback action for 1000yd IBS. Absolutely love the drop port action. My only complaint would be the new metal coating on the bolt causes a bit of drag in the action when sliding forward/backward. Its not a big deal, just thought it would be smoother being a custom action. I think that it mostly is due to the tight tolerances of the action/bolt(0.0015) and the armoloy hard chrome coating on the bolt.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the value/quality of the Stiller Action, and really appreciated the excellent customer service at Stiller. Jerry and Curtis are great!

I bought mine through Ian Robertson. I'm not sure if he is still doing this anymore, but apparently juanvaldez is planning on ordering some in.

You could also call Stiller in Texas and ask them if anyone else in Canada is Importing their actions. When I bought mine, I had troubles communicating with Robertson's, so I just talked directly to Stiller and ordered exactly what I wanted.

I bought mine through Ian Robertson as well, a stiller tac 30. It took over a year to get though, had i known that from the start might have got something else.

I have an import cert ready with stiller. I have an agreement with stiller, however I can't get ahold of them to answer a few simple things like pricing. Very frustrating when I am ready to start placing orders and have to guess on prices. It's a fine line between me breaking even and losing on these. I am trying to keep these priced as low as I can more or less to help Canadian shooters out by having a source of actions then as a business venture. I need 10 actions for my stocking order so that's at least 10 grand of my money tied up to MAYBE break even. That's why I have been pushing preorders/prepay. I can't even guess on timelines though, so it is difficult.

ATRS had no issues getting my action up from Stiller. Most of the wait time was due to the stock - McM are pretty slow. The Stiller action is smoother than my custom Remy - it feels like my TRG on the 'smoothness curve'.

I've never posted mine in this section. It's a 6.5x47mm Lapua on a TAC 30 action. I haven't fired it yet either.

Here's a list of the specifications on the rifle:

* Stiller TAC 30 short action repeater with .472" bolt face.
* Stiller 20 MOA optic rail.
* Remington 700 trigger adjusted to 2.5 lbs.
* Remington 700 internal box magazine with hinged floor plate.
* Ted Gaillard 6.5mm heavy barrel 26" in length and .910" at the muzzle.
Chambered in 6.5x47mm Lapua.
* McMillan A5 stock in GAP Camo. Sniper fill. Pillar bedded. Adjustable
for length of pull and ajustable cheek piece. Uncle Mike's sling swivel
studs.

I'm not selling the rifle in this forum, just demonstrating that quality builds are being done on a Stiller as per the OP's question...

FWIW, add things up and it doesn't take long before you've spent a tidy sum of money:

$1,100 action
$ 100 optics rail
$ 800 A5 stock
$ 425 barrel
$ 500 gun smithing
$ 130 brass
---------
$3,055 Total before taxes and shipping of all considered items.
