Anyone able to help me figure out this happened and how to fix this on my SKS?

My experience with Norinco is not good. Switch to different ammo. For example, Barnaul!! It's better in all regards and is essentially made for Russian military firearms. Also, keep the chamber clean, it's not rocket science. The lacquer and carbon will build up.

I don't clean after every range outing. Only if I shoot corrosive, or the gun gets wet.

There is anal Army clean. Where they want it cleaner then new, and then there is serviceable clean.

Then there is the other levels:

-operational clean: bolt and chamber

And

- meh it still works !
