I'm afraid to even ask this, but has anyone bought a new bcl 102 lately? I'm just curious if the current offerings are improved over the earlier models with issues. I'm aware of the mk7 and all the other companies offering NR ar10 style rifles. I don't need to hear how much bcl sucks and how i need a stag or whatever, I've read the threads and know my money is better in a stag. I'm simply looking for first hand experience from people who own recently purchased 102s. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to get flamed with me in here. Thanks guys.

well, if they didn't ….. then right around may or june they should be releasing the Mk8 so I would just wait till then LOL

From what I've been told about them, the Mk 7 is what the BCL-102 should have been before it was released. Supposedly the new owners are trying hard to turn the business around and distance themselves from the company's atrocious reputation.

They are definitely doing better in the customer service department. I have a first batch BCL-102 that was a steaming pile I tried to have sent in for warranty work 2 years ago, and they basically ghosted me.

I contacted them again a month back when I heard about the change in management, and my rifle is now there being fixed up. Have been great to deal with so far, now just need to see if the rifle is usable when I get it back.

would you trust a prostitute that gave you the crabs but now tells you that she is clean?

Same with NEA / BCL...

lot's of mea culpas over the last decade... Not many results. Way better trustworthy options these days.

I just bought a second gen I’m assuming . Haven’t shot it yet , but the price with discount was irresistible so if it doesn’t shoot right I’ll just have to get to the bottom of it

I see that the OP has gone out and got himself an NEA/BCL Mk7.

This post is for those that are thinking of doing the same:
I too have a Gen 2 that runs good. Accuracy isn't anything to write home about, but it is ok. I had to fix a few things and some of what they did is just odd.
Aside from replacing sh!tty fire control parts, it's all original including the barrel.

Unfortunately NEA/BCL reputation is in the toilet and the resale of these rifles are right there in the bowl with their rep.
I don't care how the reviews go for the new guns, and don't really care too much they are under new management, as far as I'm concerned they are right there in the bowl too.
One can do an accuracy test and say 'I quickly threw some handholds together, threw a crap-tastic scope on it and did a so-so bagged test" and then show us all photos of 1/2" groups at 100 yards....no one is buying it.

If you want quality and some semblance of resale value, get a STAG.
If you want a deal on a cheap gun, don't mind tinkering with it (ARs are easy to work on), willing to eat significant resale value and don't mind throwing caution to the wind, consider dipping your toe into the world of BCL...

I bought a Gen 3 just before Christmas last year, Knowing it could be a bust. I had a couple of stovepipes on the first 2 mags, other than that it runs fine, I get decent accuracy for a $1300 factory rifle up to 200 yrds with cheap ammo. I would not lug this thing hunting, not even consider it but for smacking gongs at the range its all I needed.

Yeah I did end up with a MK7. I only posted my range report on the mk7 for people like myself looking for info on the new model. I'm not a fan boy of any brand and have no loyalty to any brand, I simply wanted to show my results. Noone needs to "buy" anything from me. Just providing information to the community.

Craptastic scope? That hurt my feeling. Ha

That got me chuckling, pretty funny and true.

I’m deep in the sewer too as I just ordered a MRA Mk7 but I’m ok for that price.

Hahaha, I’m still laughing, good stuff Beltfed!
