Anyone bought from opticsplanet.com before?

The process was painful for me.

In a nut shell, CC "authorization" amounts to prove it is was my credit card. Did it three times. Look for amount, email them
blah, blah, blah

Took a couple of days just to get the purchase done!!

Was hardly worth the hassle for me. Cameraland was very good to deal with, highly recommend them.Prices are good too!

I cannot comment on duties or anything like that... However, I have ordered from them a couple times. They are slow, if somethings out of stock it generally takes them a couple days to notify you, beyond that Customer Service is good.. But as I said, they are slow.

I keep forgetting and ordering again, then the next day I usually get an email from them saying out of stock if I can wait 4-6 weeks they will have them in and ship. Then I cancel the order. Better luck on ebay...

I have 3 trail cams and I got them all from Cabelas USA. It ships quick ..the price ( at checkout showes the customs /duty price )

They always get to me quick and even with the minimal duty...I still save $ over getting my camera from crappy tire or other local shops. My last trail cam was $100 US from cabelas...and $240 at the local shop

I bought a $20 dollar sling from optics planet because i couldn’t find the camo pattern locally. I was charged $30 dollars duty at my door, and when I opened the box I found they had sent the wrong one. There customer service was brutal to deal with and refused to exchange it…. I would never buy from them again.

Their screwup aside, UPS I bet.

Whenever I buy from the US, I always use USPS (postal service). You'll pay Canadian customs a $5 brokerage fee + HST + duty (usually don't pay that on things from states with NAFTA)

So I ordered from them today, with a discount coupon I bought a bushnell trophy cam bone collector edition 8mp trail cam for 124.99 plus + 20 shipping $144 all in, brokerage fees included via USPS express post. Can't even come close to that price in Canada! Granted it's a open box demo unit but still can't beat the price!! I'll post on how fast it gets here and if there were any hickups.

So far the order has been put on hold to verify my "international" visa is legit, I verified it yesterday but it's still on hold, so far not impressed, but hopefully it will ship out today....

They refused to sell me trigger pull gauge, and I was to have it shipped to US addy too. A few emails back and forth with me explaining it was just a tool, a scale, they'd not budge.
And just recently, they refused to sell holsters to a friend of mine.
