Anyone can own the night - DIY NV

Very interesting. It follows my expectation about scopes in general, where I expect scopes in future will only be optical on the front end and electronic on the back end which will eliminate the exit pupil drawbacks at high magnification of purely optical scopes. Once you've gone with a microchip, you can make things sing and dance up to the capabilities of the chip. I've been considering NV for a lark so this sounds like a cheap way to try it and have a fun project along the way (very thorough description by the OP it seems at first glance). I especially like the tie wraps, do they come in camo?

Seems like a good use for those hundred or so IR led's that I have just been waiting to use.. :D
And the flip mount that I have sitting around...
and those old security cameras I have sitting around from my old job,
Hmmm....

Look up Rolaids Bench on you tube. there are links on the op's link to some of his stuff. The scopeless 3.0 has got my attention. May have to put one on the 10/22

The tech you're seeing there isn't anything close to what good NV companies are making.

They're using image intensifier tubes with photo electric plates.

This is a digital system. Taking an IR sensitive camera and flooding your scene with light.

Verrry different technologies.
