Anyone carries Agula 60gr ammo?

I have one box left. Be prepared to crap your drawers when I tell you the sale price.

Did you know that ammo is conmatinated with lead? not safe...so I'll have to take it off your hands and properly dispose it....one round at the time :D

where did you get it?

Aguila is not legal for commercial sale in Canada as it is not on the "NRCAN Approved" list.

It is legally in Canada if it came directly from Mexico as a personal import (however, foreigners are not allowed to purchace or possess ammo, penalty is 5 years in jail) or other country. If it came from the US, it means it was smuggled out of the US, because you can't get the Canadian import permit (even personal) if the ammo is not on the list.

Please correct me if I am wrong and is approved for sale in Canada.

Why did I post this? Because both US and Canadian security agencies also read posts on here.

Oh yeah....

Is there a gun on the planet capable of shooting those without keyholing?

I know firsthand of three:

Ruger Mk II 5.5 inch bull barrel (and no feed/eject issue with this one either)
TOZ-17
TOZ-8 (both of these older russian rifles, no problem out to 100 yards)

As well, past 60 yards, one had to add more elevation to compensate for a drooping trajectory.
IIRC with the TOZ-8, sights were at 135 or so, to be spot on at 100 yards.

I have a higher twist rate barrel for my 10/22 just for that ammo. I had purchased 6 bricks a few years ago from a dealer advertising on the EE. It was very costly then...No, I never sell anything. The only bad thing about the ammo is that the powder is stinkier than normal.

Weird. I have 4 boxes of Aguila Super Extra ammo that still have the Canadian Tire price stickers on them. $1.59 per box, and I doubt Canadian Tire was smuggling them into the country.

They were bought a long time ago. Things have changed since, in the import rules.

I can recall buying Aquila ammo at the local gas station. At 59 cents per box. It was the cheapest ammo around. Went back to domestic, because the misfires ran at about 1 in 3. Not so much a deal. And the smell:eek:.

Funny stuff. Everybody wants the stuff that is not available. If it was, they'd all be whining about how crappy it is. :D

Cheers

I also have Aguila purchased from Canadian Tire. That is before NRCAN imposed their new "rules" that all ammo must be tested and approved for sale in Canada.

That is why we get very little surplus ammo, it also has to go through the same testing procedures. BTW, it is not only testing, but they also need the chemical formulations and manufacturing records. Without that info, the ammo doesn't get into the country anymore........
