I'd just like to know if some of you have chrono some good subsonic match ammo and how close it was to the spec, which is usually 1050 or around that.
Just did a quick test this morning first time using a chorny and got 990-995fps, which made me wonder if my chrono reads a little slow, or maybe its just the temperature as it was around 2-3°C at the time, or maybe its the normal range?

thanks for any input on this.

I have 26" barrels on two of my target rifles, and SK Standard Plus, and RWS Championship Edition run very close to rated velocities at around 20 degrees C. At just above freezing, they are right around 1000fps.

Yes. Average velocity is not important. Shot to shot variation is. I've seen varying shot to shot readings on the chrony in a +/-40 fps range with match ammo correspond to high and low flyers. Consistency is key.

'Spec' on the ammo box is for entertainment value only. Different barrel lengths will shoot different speeds with the same brand/type/lot. The same barrel will shoot different speeds when its cold, hot, himid or dry.

Exploring the issue is a red pill blue pill sort of decision.
