I never shot pistol and I'll be getting my restricted course next week-end and I'm still not decided if I get a .22LR or 9mm/.40 S&W pistol as a first...

I would like to be initiated (sp?) to the sport please :)
I will pay ammo with no problem and would prefer a french speaking person, (english would be just a bit harder to begin with... but I can try hehe)

Just reply / PM where you live, what pistol you would let me shoot and where's the range!

It would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

Steph

I have no problem writting in english :)
I only have fired a .22 rifle in the past and would like to have the feeling of the 22 pistol or 9/.40 before making a choice..
The .22lr ammo cost is sure tempting but If I don't like it, it's not better..
I heard we should fire centerfire in the exam for restricted, so that would be a start.

I have handled a XD40, 1911 and a Desert Eagle / Sig mosquito and Beretta Neos in a store and liked the Sig hand feeling.. beretta was so-so, and others was too big for my liking (even if I have medium/large hands).

Let's see what come's up and I'll see.

Bonjour Steph,

Tu peut me rejoindre à l'adresse g.boudreault@videotron.ca

Guy B.

Salut Steph,

You DON'T do any 'firing' in the exam. You're just required to know the basics of centre-fire handguns

e.g.

- types of bullet (RN, SWC,...);

- factoids like ".38 special ammo can be used in .357 Mag but not vice versa"...

well the shooting was supposed to be at lunch time and he forgot :(
we had a nice s&w 4506 to play with at least.

anyway I passed that's more important :D

Thanks to the 2 offers :)
