Anyone dealt with Wortners in Chatham?

I had a nasty incident with a squib last night and basically ruined the barrel in my custom S&W hand ejector. First off, I need to source out a minty barrel and second I'm thinking that Wortners seems to be the logical place to send it for a rebarrel. Anyone here dealt with them?

Well I ordered a new MP9 barrel from them and had it in a few days. Great service, and fast as can be expected.

Gunsmithing work is a whole different story, but to order a barrel should be no issue.

I have only ordered S&W parts from them but the service was very good.

What calibre? Tradex has some 45acp barrels (1950 model in 5 1/2 inch)

A club member sent down a S&W 41 for repairs. Came back fairly quickly, working well and not to costly. He was satisfied with the work done and the price.

I've got a buddy that has built a relationship in there and is quite pleased. They had the best price on a new beretta 92fs. I'll be in there next weekend, but that's really just to buy a bunch of ammo to head to the range with. Hoping for some nice weather as plan to burn through a ton of rounds.

If you had to deal with idiots bringing in their ####ed up guns all the time and expecting repairs to be done yesterday... You'd come off as an ass too..

I have bought ammo, powder and targets from the man for many years. never had a problem and never received a harsh word from him, his son or wife (I think his wife). He has graciously given me advice on my old guns and was always helpful.

Too true!! I'd be positively evil in a job like that.

I've had work done by him, damn good workman, and i thought he was great. Part of the problem is he is one of the few really good smiths around and is always behind, plus, if you walk in and start demanding #### like a jerk, he's not gonna respond well.

Ask to see the muzzle loaders he build from scratch (and i do mean scratch) to compete in precision muzzle loading shooting with.
