anyone else have a No4 Air rifle?

Sounds like Saxby / Palmer Ensign................Mine had cartridges like a 20 gauge with the pellet sitting in a screw top tapered adapter.
a PCP gun....early version.....1800 psi....KEN.

You don't pump up the rifle, but rather the cartridges. Air bottle inside a .303 case and uses .22 calibre pellets
What you have there is a real collector's piece, and a very nice airgun score.

It is an actual British Lee Enfield No 4 service rifle, that was converted by World Wide Arms to utilize the Brocock air cartridge system, back around 1985.
The gun, using the supplied air cartridges will develop around 12 FPE, and the magazine will hold 10 rounds. The gun was originally supplied with the Brocock "slim Jim" hand pump.
They originally sold for around 175 GBP. Current value would be a tough call - they rarely turn up for sale, but perhaps a query on one of the UK based collector's forums might get you a better idea of a potential price range.

These guns create quite a stir in the UK when they were released, and the backlash of media hysteria resulted in the guns being banned in the UK around late 1986.
