Anyone Else Hear Of This??

Just wondering if anyone else has came across this problem. While reloading some .300 WM with 150gr’s I noticed that something wasn’t quite right. After checking the bullets with the scale I found out they where actually 180gr’s. Checked the box again and it was labeled 150gr and was also (until I opened it) factory sealed. I contacted the company and they were very accommodating (which is why they are not mentioned). Just wondering if anyone else has encountered something like this before.

Would have not been so bad if it was the other way around but a 150 to 180 charge is quite a bit of extra pressure, glad you noticed!

There is a huge lenght difference! but everyone should check it good safety practice.

This is particularly a problem when you are buying bulk bullets from Wholesale Spots. Often they mix up Winchester and Remiongton bullets in the same bag, and I have found 7mm bullets mixed in with .308's.

I was loading some .277 calibre Barnes "X" bullets out of a sealed box a year or so ago and had one that felt very "tight" while seating. A check with the calipers revealed it was a 7mm bullet. Going through the box one by one I found 2 more "fat" bullets.
