I was shooting my FN Hi-Power the other day, and was reminded just how much I like this pistol. It seems like these guns do not get a lot of attention on this board, compared to the more modern "tactical" designs, but if I could only have one handgun, it would likely be a HP. This gun is perfect in almost every way: ergonomics, balance, looks, fit and finish, accuracy, reliability...If only FN would get rid of the magazine safety, it would be flawless.

Any other Hi-Power fans out there?

Remove it yourself IE the mag safety. Search online and they tell you how to remove it.

The only thing I do not like about a Browning HP is the hammer bite.

I have an Inglis which still has the mag safety and an excellent trigger and shoots very well, 1/2 the group size of my CZ. Mind you it is not exactly a stock gun but does have mainly stock parts.

I keep one, even though I don't shoot it much anymore. When I had to move some guns, I sold my early CZ75 before I would ditch the BHP. It just fits well, although I really don't care for the safety. I'll have to change that, one of these days. - dan

Yes... I've tried other pistols but I always end up back with the Hi-power. Right now I'm using a MkIII Hi-power and love it.

Inglis Hp

Carried one for years,good solid pistol,13 shots good self defence pistol,with good mags .Aways goes bang. From o to 25 yards puts all the rds in a 6inch group,which is ok to save your ass. And makes a great club. Target pistol its not.
But I would carry one before some of the new plastic wonders.
The only gun to compare to a HP is the Old 1911.

And remember never take a gun to a gun fight.............
