I have been shooting - hunting with the 6.8SPC cartridge since it first came out appr 11 years ago.

Started out with a Robinson Arms XCR-L semi-auto rifle but sold it right after the spawn of Castro won the election 5 years ago.

I now have a shortened from 23" to 19" T/C Contender carbine and a 22" factory tapered - fluted Rem 700 LTR (light tactical rifle) both in 6.8SPC.

I shoot Barnes 95gr TTSX now classed as TAC-TX @ 2900fps in the Contender and Nosler 110gr Accubonds at 2750fps in the LTR.

They are surprisingly accurate here is a picture of the Contender I shot at the rock from appr 350 yards point of aim was middle top of rock I did not hold for windage and it was very windy that day you can see the copper splat on the rock at 3 o'clock.

Here it is with a blacktail buck I shot 3 years ago.

This is my Rem 700 LTR it now sits in a Magpul Hunter 700 stock I shot a blacktail buck with it two weeks ago the pumpkin I shot at 360 yards scope is a Leupold VX3 4.5-14 LR Varmint reticle I held the first reticle line down at the top of the pumpkin I have this combo zeroed at 200 yards.

The next morning I went back and shot the pumpkin two more time but held the second reticle line down dead center of the pumpkin.

I'm tagged out on deer for my region its now time to pull out my Foxpro e-caller and decoys and try to call in some coyotes and if I'm lucky a bobcat or mtn lion may pop out.

I have a Mcwhorter built on a sako A1 action. Love it. I am shooting 100gr accubonds in mine and they shoot great. I did have it with me most of the fall but didn't see a deer I wanted to take so I can't comment on how it performs on game. Sweet little set up though

I’ll give mine a try in couple days for deer. Tc contender with 14” brl and 110 acrabonds. Anyone try Barnes 85 tsx in this caliber

I shoot 95gr TTSX at 2900fps in my 19" barreled T/C Contender.

I recommend you go with the 95gr over the 85gr the 95gr bullets are actually classed as Barnes TAC-TX bullets because they are designed to open up faster and at lower velocities.

CDNsldr may still have some and AA2200 powder for sale in the EE I scored 300 of his 95gr TTSX and 4 lbs of his AA2200 powder.

Even though your chamber may have a long throat for the best accuracy don't waste your time trying to load long I recommend you load to max AR mag OAL.

Well I was out with 6.8 this weekend and fired 2 rounds. First one was through heavy bush and could barely make head out so let fly. Poor bugger is going to be cold this year winter as I gave it a pretty good haircut. Second round was at a good sized doe at approx 175y and had to wait till it gave me a quarterly side shot. Shot was good in mid height and a very good blood trail. After skinning iam not sure about the 110 accrubond bullet as it looks like I will be
throwing a shoulder away possible two.

I would like to be able to hunt with the 6.8 SPC. Was looking for a Mini 14 when the band came.
Waiting now till someone builds the 6.8 Creedmoor. that would make a great deer round.
