So I shot mine for the first time on the weekend and the stock felt a bit on a short side. Also grip ergonomics is pretty poor and the heavy trigger wasn't helping much either. :S

Is this why some of you guys got the aftermarket stocks? Personally I really like wood furniture better on a gun like SKS but sure what I can do about it...

Get a recoil pad from www.tradeexcanada.com

Lever arms sells chinese sks pads that add about 2 inches. I think it cost me $5.

As for the trigger, I had a trigger job done with a wolf spring kit. Cost $150
But have 3 pound trigger now and it is much better and safer.

I had the same complaint when I first got started with the SKS. The 2 inch but extender does make a difference but if you really want to make the rifle fit you get a Tapco T6 stock.

It really depends on how tall you are. I'm 6'2" and mine doesn't feel too short, but certainly my M1 feels a lot better.
