I have about 45 rds with this sight on and she blew right off on Sunday. Worst was I was in a hay field and couldn't find it after. It was installed by a gunsmith near me in Norfolk County but I do not know what he used. Very frustrating!

I'm going to go with a raised bead now, hopefully have better luck with that and hope it is high enough that a slugs don't shoot to high.

Did your gunsmith remove the bead sight when he installed the XS sight??? If not, did the bead get blow off with the sight? if so are the bead threads stripped?

No he drilled and tapped for a bead then put XS on top of that. The bead went with the XS when she came off, it's hard to see if there is any threads left because there isn't a lot of metal left after the barrel was tapped for chokes.

sounds like the gas pressure blew off the bead or he threaded the hole too big and the recoil knocked it off :(

My only suggestions is get a sight brazed on

I think the next one will be silver soldered on. I have had enough with this NEA barrel, everything has been a hassle from the word go, not all their fault but none the less by the time I have a perfectly functioning shotgun this barrel will have cost me over $500. Should have just kept my Norinco instead of 'upgrading' to a North American shorty shotgun:mad:

after threading for chokes there probably wasnt alot of thread left for the bead to hold on. happened to the bead on my mossberg after i got it threaded for chokes as well.

Ya your probably ruhjt but shouldn't the epoxy have kept it on?

Well it might of if the finish on the barrel was sand away. Epoxy is strong but need a good clean surface to bond too

Also your barrel flexs alot during firing and I would never trust epoxy alone IMO
