Since hunting season is over for me for the year, I thought this would be fun.

Anyone ever do something silly like this? I might try 3 gun with it in the spring :)

It's definitely going to be fun at the gravel pit shoots we do.

It's a little heavy, but it swings ok. I haven't shot it with the tube on it. Just checked, holds 9.9 2 3/4 + 1 I will have to see how I can get that 3/8" more room :)

7 + 1 of 3.5" = 144 OO buckshot... If I can't do it with that....

It was a Rem1100 with the similar barrel and extension but with a KA-1212 brake/suppressor and some other tweaks. Thing holds 11 rounds and has gotta be 4' long. Completely pointless gun but pretty interesting.

Nothing is pointless if it's fun.

Very true...

Shame you're just short of that extra round... I'm assuming there's some sort of plug or something at the end of the magazine to hold the spring in place, right? Or does the spring just rest against the back of the magazine tube?

just into the cap on one side and the fo9llower cap on the other. There is very positive spring pressure though. Hate to weaken it, but there's a lot of force so a couple coils might work. Try 1 or 2 at a time and test.

OK, here's an odd duck that we built and haven't figured out what to do with yet. Its a JC Higgins 583.20 bolt-action 12ga.

Work done:
Repaired and refinished the stock
Added a Pachmayr Decelerator buttpad
Shortened the barrel
Added KA-1212 brake/suppressor
Added HiViz fiberoptic sight
Installed a modified Moss500A magazine tube for 8rd capacity
Added Wolff extra-strength mag spring
Added S&J magazine follower
Sandblasted and parkerized all metal parts
Duracoated gun in "KA Black"

That's about as much work as you can do on a $75 gun ;)

That gun was just a result of boredom and some loose $$$ to spend on stupidity. Probably won't ever built anything that ridiculous again but it was fun.

Ive been entertaining this idea myself, just dont have the funds to put it together right now. Is it just that close to fitting that 10th shell unstableryan? What are you running for a mag follower? it my just need a slight trimming to fit, I can almost squeeze 7 2 3/4" in my Benelli

I put an extension on my 870 a couple of years ago and it held 10 +1. The thing was a beast and before I did it I thought it would be great. After.... not so much. So front heavy it wasn't even worth it. Kind of cool doing rapid fire though.

Back when I shot IPSC and the gun laws weren't so stupid I had a 10 shot extension for my 11-87. I loaded fairly hot 2" roll crimped shells for it and it would fit 12+1 with a steel cup type follower. It has a Dlask Comp on it so it was controllable but the front end weight change in rapid fire was quite disconcerting. You will probably not notice it as much as you have to pump each time.
