May have been a bit before my time I was told that What i thought was a Boyds stock is actually a Shaw m14 stock . Does anyone know much about these as I cannot find hardly any reference to them on the Internet . It seems to fit really well and is definitely big and beefy . Hope the picture is OK

John Shaw designed the stock with the purpose to be beefier in the forstock to allow for mounting of the harris bipod.
SAI picked the design up from him.

I have 2, J. Shaw stocks that came with a bunch of USGI glass and walnut that I aquired in the year leading up to me joining CGN. So I've had them a long time now LOL
I actually made production molds of the Shaw stock , with a couple cosmetic variations but it is essentially the Shaw stock.
I've only made 2 in composite and the molds are gathering dust in a drawer somewhere in my shop hehehe

look in the stock channel for J.S. or in the raised wood of the buttstock under the pad.
Looks to me like the real deal Shaw harris bipod stock .

edit*** google doesn't have a whole lot of info on the Shaw stuff but there are a handful of guys on m14forum that know quite a bit. Shaw made some very nice E2 stocks as well, both with and without the bipod buttress.

I'm no aficionado on this topic but have had the 2 shaw stocks for many years.
There have been a few stock makers doing M1A/M14 stocks that never made widespread circulation. There was a guy in canada that made some cool wood stocks as well but don't see them often.

Nice collector pieces guys ;)
