a guy on the internet i've been dealing with is trying to sell me on a NCstar scope as a high quality rifle scope equal to say a bushnell 3200. can anyone tell me if this is true or if he is just flat out lieing or some where in between.

Well, never had the pleasure of using a NCstar scope however, I have used a Ncstar red dot and if the quality/production is the same for both, i would save up and buy the bushnell. That being said, what will you be putting it on?
a rimfire maybe wouldn't be to bad, but based on my experience, i wouldn't trust them on anything bigger. IMHO.

i got a NcStar long eye relief scope
i put it on my Mosin Nagant which has a significant recoil
i had no issues at all. i sold it only because the mounts were not very practical and had to remove the rear sight to install it.
have had no experience with other scopes to compare

I have one of their compacts on my M4, so far so good, but only owned it for 1 month, but $81 for a scope with a quick release was worth taking a chance on.

I've got an NCstar LER scope. Two years on my Garand with full power handloads (adjustable gas system) and it shoots great. I've actually got one incoming from Marstar for my scout mount M14.

I bought three.
2 scopes and one spotting scope.

1 scope is fine.
1 scope has crap hanging down in the tube. Almost useless.
The spotting scope mirror or something is loose inside. Completely useless.

Warrant work is done in the US.

Haven't bothered sending them out.

NcStar is one of the Chinese makers who are looking to be a bit more well-known. I have a LER for my Mauser and it is fine. I have used a 6x24x50 that was also fine at lower magnification but lacked clarity at higher settings. Comparing them to Elite 3200 is a bit like comparing Elite 3200 to NF or Leupold. I'd go with the best you can afford because you will end up buying better one way or another anyway so why waste the money on low end to start with.

I'm with Blygy on this one. Mine is a 3-9X40 and you set it anywhere past 5 and its just a big fuzzy gopher at 50 yards. But it came "free" with a gun, exactly what it's worth! No warranty in canada either!

you now what it's the age old thing....you get what you paid for. I bought a pair of binos at a gun show and am really happy with them.
i also bought a mini sight for my norinco......i figured chinese gun chinese sights....match made in heaven, works fine.

I have a long eye relief scope on my mauser and a mini-red dot on my carbine.

They are OK. YOu get what you pay for really, they work though, just don't expect anything fantastic.

Had one of the NCSTAR red dots on my 10/22. It didn't even make a full season before the "pounding" of the recoil from the .22 started to switch the reticule on and off every shot. I was only into the thing for about $50.00 and it will be the last NCSTAR product I ever own.

Chinese gun, Chinese sights, match made in heaven??? HUH?? You must have very low expectations of guns and sights, and Heaven as well!!
