I've been trying to get my hands on some WTW Windjammer II 1oz wads. I cant find anybody in Canada that carries them. All I can find are Claybuster clones and the ones they make are different than the new WJII 1oz. I was just wondering if anyone has ordered wads from the US and if it was a problem. Grafs & Sons and Recobs both carry them. I wouldnt mind getting some BP wads from over there aswell.

Thanks
Tim

Tim, I have had wads shipped up to me from the US. No problems as far as them being restricted or anything. I suggest you use USPS rather than UPS or Fedex, as they nail you hard with broker fees.

Beretta Boy....the only problem is the only place in Michigan that has the wads I want ,which are the new Windjammer 1oz, is a 3 hr drive to get them. There's another place in Ohio but its still 2hrs. All the close places just handle the clone wads.

I know, I know ... but you want it ... It's worth a 2-3 hour one-way drive to pick up a couple of cases. Used to have to do that all the time ... 4 - 4-1/2 hours one way to Rochester to get PC (Pattern Control) wads. A 3 hour one way drive to get my favourite hunting boots ... and an 11 hour one way drive to get fresh lobster. You gotta do what you gotta do ! It's only time and money !

I made the 45min drive today and picked up some GreenDuster wads for $6/500 and found some Remington Gameloads (1oz #8)on sale for $29/flat. I had to pick up a few of those. I also managed to outfit the whole family (me wife and 2 boys) in new insulated/waterproof 2 piece camo suits (bibs, parka & gloves) for $250 total for everyone.....man I love the USA. I think I'll wait till the ATA season starts again and pick up a case (or 2) of those wads at the Great Lakes Grand in Mason Michigan. Thats if I cant get someone to ship them to me.

Tim:

See, the drive wasn't so bad ... couple hours more you could'a gone to Cabela's and back !!!

Patterned some loads of the original Windjammer & the Claybuster 12ga clones ...CB4118-12B ... IMHO I don't see any meaningful difference ! The original Winjammer 20ga. wads did not pattern as well as AA -20 ga (white) wads in my 20ga. skeet guns however - the AA loads were even & well distributed ... the Windjammmer irregular and splotchy ... FWIW.

Make sure you are aware of the risks of exporting ammo from the USA. I have no idea what the requirements are for reloading supplies.
