I've been shooting 120 gr. TTSX with good results out of my Sako 85 7-08 but thought I might try working up a load using 110 gr. TTSX since I have a box on hand and to see how much more velocity I can get. They'll be used for hunting deer. Anybody else use 110 gr. TTSX for this purpose?

I have a bunch that i havent tested yet. hoping to build a reduced H4895 load around 2800-2900fps for an ultra low recoil hunting load for a buddies recoil sensitive wife. What velocities are you getting with the 120? What powder you using? Stout loads of varget or similiar should get you up around 3100-3200 fps n a 24" tube I would think.

I can't comment on the .284 TTSX but I've used both the .308 and .277 110 grain versions with good success (the former in a bolt action 30-30, the latter in a 270 winchester). 4 blacktails so far, all four were 1 shot, bang/flops.

I've got a 22" barrel, I'm using 43.7 gr. of Varget which is near max., and getting about 2900 fps. The accuracy is excellent! Dropped 3 deer with this load,,,all bang-drop but all less than 100 yds.
