I know it sounds a bit heavy but just wondering, has anyone tried it

How did It work in the 1:9.25 twist...

105 amax list 1:9 twist for them, I normaly use 80-85s but have used 100 sp before.

I had an early model 77 Ruger and it would not stabalize a 105 grain pointed bullet.
Similar bullets in 100 grains were OK.

They work extremely well out of my rifle with a 1 in 9.25 twist. Speer SP's though. IMR4350. Practically turn a ground hog inside out. Literally stripped the meat off a rib or two. One rib was completely detached.
A-Max bullets are match bullets. Don't use 'em to hunt anything but varmints. You'll have to work up the load too.

We used them in a 6mm and they shot very well. Christy took an Antelope with that bullet, and I got a Whitetail and a Muley with it. The bullet is very destructive and does not hold up very well from our experience. Very similar to a Nosler ballistic tip.

I used Speer 105gr Spitzers with IMR 4350 in a model 88 Winchester for Deer. I can't recall exactly how accurate they were but they were pretty good and worked well on Deer.
I gave that rifle to my Dad when he decided he wanted to use something with a little less recoil than his '06 feather weight, and with it I also gave him a number of boxes of 105gr Speer reloads. As I remember, before he gave up hunting he did take about four Deer with that combination and was happy with the performance.

The savage 22 inch barrel 9.25 twist has not problem with 105 amax bullets, this is great news.

I found IMR 4350 was best at 41.0 grains and in the lands hard.

Only tried 10 loads but at .7 at 100 in this wind I am happy.

Berger 80 grains squeezed out a bit more accuracy with H-380 but a flat base bullet does not give me what I want at extended ranges.

Thanks guys
