It's getting closer to that time of year again, anyone have any thoughts on 9.3 x 57 loads?
Once again the gremlins have hidden my plans on the previous years loads. Starting fresh again...
Using those bulk 250 sp from Tradex and got a box of Barnes 250 gr solids that are going to get used up on coyotes. Powder will be IMR 4895
Thanks for your time.

Never been able to shoot accurately the Barnes banded solids in any of my 9.3... were they X57 or by X62 and any other Barnes bullets will be way too hard to reliably expand at X57 velocities. When put at the muzzle, the Banded Solids will enter the barrel up to the driving band.
As for IMR4895 loads, 45 grains should take you in the 2100 fps range.

You have chosen a good powder for the 9.3x57. By far the best powder i've used.

I haven't tried 250 gr bullets, just 270 gr Speers and 280 gr cast bullets. With the 270 gr Speers, 45 gr IMR4895 made 2150 fps and I did push it up to 47.5 gr in a M649 Husqvarna with no sign of pressure issues. The recoil gets a bit sharper and it's treading close on the heels of the venerable 9.3x62 with that load. I've reloaded some of that brass 4 times and it's still like new. Obviously you should start a bit lower and work up.
