I have a blued steel 15 shot magazine that I am trying to indentify before putting it on the EE for sale. My research points me to thinking it is for a Marlin model 56 but I am not sure and cannot find a clear picture to be 100% sure.
Anyone have a picture of the 56 magazines? I understand they are usually 7 shot but the bigger ones were available.
It is:
--5" long and marked with 'use high velocity 22 LR only' but has no other markings.
-back edge is square and front edge is round; the most interesting thing about this mag is that it does not have a slot and button down one side to move the follower down to assist in loading and unloading. The fact that it says to use high velocity ammo only indicates to me that it is a rifle mag and not a handgun mag although it may also indicate it is for an auto loader instead of a lever action.
Any experience or ideas? Thanks ......wTc
