Anyone familiar with 'Ruko' scopes?

I received a .308 that has a 'Ruko 3-9x40, waterproof, wide angle' scope on it. I know absolutely nothing about glass, and some online searching has come up mostly empty-handed. Except that this may be a European scope? An additional concern I have is the size of the front barrel of the scope. It's mounted so low that I have to force the cap on and off the front as it is right on top of the iron sights. This puts unnecessary strain on the scope, and cuts up the plastic of the cap. (Not to mention how awkward it is to maneuver the bolt as it's so close.

Thoughts anyone? Decent scope? Or should I turf it and get something else?

Ruko is a distributor; scopes were made for them. More likely Japanese than European. These were not expensive scopes. If the scope works for you don't worry about it.
Cut the bottom of the cap so it doesn't contact the barrel - or use a different cover system.

I haven't seen ruko's for many years. I believe at the time they were Japanese made and decent for an inexpensive scope. I had one in 4x and thought it was pretty good for the $ at that time.

I have a few of them in attic, unopened. Japanese import, and Rukko put his name on it. Glass is not all that bad, since its japanese, and the price is good. If it looks good and works, use it. If you wanna pay to upgrade, to each is their own.

They must have imported many different items, I have a nice well made soft gun case, and a German made Bowie Knife with Ruko labelling on them. Decent quality on both items.

ruko makes everything from pots and pans to trains- like it was said they're a distributor I have ho scale ruko miniature trains and tanks and their definition of ho scale is a bit off

Have had two 3x9x32 Rukos mounted on a Model 94 in 32 wspl and a bubbaed 38 swede mauser. sighted them in 30 years ago and they are still holding zero as of last fall. LOL Shot a lot of deer with them. Don't think you can go wrong if they are anything like mine.YMMV

FOR THE MONEY (and that's important) they are an excellent scope. I've used them over the years and they never failed me. Sure, they're not Leupold, or Swarovski, or Zeiss, etc.etc., but if you get a decent sight picture and the reticles hold true, so what? Is a deer or a moose more dead if it's shot by a Tikka or Sauer than a $150. sporter Lee Enfield? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So most likely to be made by the cheapest place available, unless the origin is know I'd buy from a scope manufacturer with a know quality & service level
